Although, I recommend shopping 1 day a week, I find myself using the weekends to run to the stores. I stick to my list and factor that amount into my weekly budget. I am out on Saturday at the Farmer's Market and Sunday, for the papers so I can easily run across the street for a few items at Shoprite. The Dollar Tree Store sells the Sunday paper with the coupon inserts for $1.00 with a 3 paper maximum. On the way home from the Y, I stop at Whole Foods Market for lunch meat for sandwiches.
It's still farm market season, so I spent $9.00 on Saturday on:
- Lettuce - $2.00
- Arugula - $1.50
- 2 Green Peppers - $1.00
- 3 - Tomatoes - $1.50
- Fingerling Potatoes - $3.00
On Sunday, I used my last Ragu® coupon for free pasta sauce and picked up 3 loaves of bread for the week at Shoprite. Dave's Killer Bread is on sale for $3.99 so I splurged and picked up 1 loaf. I spent $7.97.
At Whole Foods Market, I spent $23.04, including $3.99 on soup for a sick husband!
I spent $40.01 this weekend!
