The sales flyers are in and there are some great deals to be had at both stores this week. I do shop at both stores each week. They are close to each other so there no extra expense of the gas or time to consider. But which store has the best prices? Let's take a look. When making the price comparison, I've used like products and sizes in this post.
UPDATE: Again, the price of butter keeps fluctuating at Aldi. At the time I started this post, the butter was $2.99. Now it's $2.04 again!!
1. BUTTER

2. SHREDDED CHEESE
There are 2 sizes of shredded cheese at Aldi on sale this week. Depending on the variety of cheese you shop for the savings will vary.
Aldi: Happy Farms, 12 oz. for $1.99
Price Per Ounce: $0.166
Aldi: Happy Farms, 16 oz. for $2.49
Price Per Ounce: $0.156
ShopRite: Cabot, 8 oz., $1.77 on sale ($3.49 reg.)
Price Per Ounce: $0.22
On paper, ShopRite is cheaper, but look closer and you'll see that the price per unit is different.
Where To Buy It:
- Aldi: If you need 12 or 16 oz. of cheese, you will spend up to $0.42 (for the 16 oz. package) more out of pocket but get an additional 8 oz. of cheese. That saves you $1.05 this week.
- However, if you know that you only need 8 oz. of cheese, buy it at ShopRite.
3. BLOCK CHEESE

ShopRite: Cabot - Assorted Varieties 8 oz., $1.77 on sale ($3.99 reg.)

Where To Buy It:
- Aldi: Yes, you only save $0.08, but let's do the math. The pennies add up to $4.16 a year that you save on 1 item, simply by buying it cheaper. Hey, that's a cup of coffee for some!
4. ORANGE JUICE - Not From Concentrate
Aldi: $1.99
Price Per Ounce: $0.033 I calculated this based on 59 oz.. Unless Aldi changed the size of the container, the text in the ad is wrong. I am waiting to hear back from them. If you look closer the item featured is 59 oz. and I still have a container in the refrigerator that is 59 oz. Aldi is changing its' size to 52 oz. So the price per ounce is now $0.038.
ShopRite: Simply Orange, 52 oz., Limit 1 @ $1.49, sale price $1.99 (reg. $4.29)
Price Per Ounce: $0.029 w/ coupon and sale price, $0.038 sale price.
Where To Buy It: ShopRite. Save $0.50.
There is a cheaper alternative if you don't mind orange juice from concentrate:

5. COFFEE
Aldi: Daily Basics 100% Ground Coffee, 30.5 oz. - $4.79 ($0.157/oz.)
ShopRite:: Chock Full of Nuts, 10.3 - 11.3 oz. - $1.99 with coupon or $2.77 on sale.
$1.99 may seem like a great buy, but the price per ounce is higher at ShopRite. There is a limit of 1 per coupon. Each additional coffee is on sale for $2.77. Therefore, you need to purchase 3 cans at ShopRite to equal Aldi's size, spending $7.53.
Where To Buy It: Aldi. Save $2.74.
6. CAFE BUSTELO Aldi: Cafe Bustelo, 10 oz. - $2.88

Use the SuperCoupon for the $1.99 price on 1. Each additional purchase is $2.49.

Eggland's Best coupons were available in the 09/09/18 and 11/11/18 Retail Me Not Sunday inserts. Depending on your region there was a $0.35 or a $0.50 off 1.

- Aldi: Without coupons, save $0.98
- Aldi: If your coupons do not double, save $0.48 or $0.63.
- Aldi: If you have the $0.35 coupon that doubles, save $0.28
- ShopRite: If you have the $0.50 coupon that doubles, save $0.02
